Bay Area native Ryan Rey teaches music and recording arts at Fusion Academy in Walnut Creek. He holds a B.A. in Music Composition from CSU East Bay (Hayward, CA) and is nearing the completion of an M.A. in Music Composition from the same institution. During his graduate studies, Ryan was the inaugural recipient of the Glenn Glasow Graduate Fellowship in Music Composition and also became the first Graduate Teaching Associate where he taught sight singing and ear training for two years. His diverse musical experiences include: composing music for various musicians and performing ensembles ranging from soloists to symphonic band; scoring films and other media including the award winning independent film All About Dad which screened throughout the US, Vietnam, and aired on TV; singing in choir and touring Europe, Mexico, and the US; and touring the US and Mexico as a guitarist in Antagony, an extreme metal band from the Bay Area. In the rare instance you see Ryan not writing music, you may find him playing videogames (preferably Super Mario Bros. for NES). He also makes a mean chili and can lock deadbolts from the outside using nothing but a piece of twine.
