Ryan Driggs is a history and literature teacher at Fusion. He studied at De Anza College here in California (where he received his A.A.) and traveled to Illinois to attend Shimer College (where he graduated with a bachelors in humanities). He worked as a chess teacher for five years before getting into more regular classroom work. After a stint at Challenger School he found a home at Fusion. His greatest academic interest at the moment is the delineation between the Roman Empire and Byzantium, and the implications this has for the way we interpret Western history. He fenced for over a decade and is always ready to talk about the sport, and the history of swordsmanship in general (it was the subject of his thesis).
