Robert DiMedio

Head of School

Robert DiMedio is a dynamic administrator who believes in 21st century student driven instruction, and came to Fusion Academy with two years of administrative experience at Holy Cross Academy and ten years of educational experience including five as a Dean of Students in the School District of Philadelphia.

During Rob’s tenure as an Associate Principal, he helped provide his mission and vision of a school performing at it’s highest potential. Robert has helped reinvent the recruitment process to help identify and hire the best teachers in the region. He has worked closely with Delran STEM Ecosystem Alliance to align school curriculum with cutting edge skills that local and national businesses require, creating productive partnerships with exciting companies.

In 2013, Robert was hired at Benjamin Franklin High School as their Dean of Students and was made responsible for all school climate and safety operations. During this time Ben Franklin absorbed University City and Robert Vaux High Schools. Throughout this complex transition, he was responsible for bringing the communities together and maintaining a positive school culture. He revived their dormant AP program with crowd-sourced funding for new technologies. He also taught Night, and Saturday school, while earning his Masters in Athletic Administration from Ohio University, and was named the assistant athletic director.

Robert earned his first Dean of Students position at Communications High School, where he was a teacher for seven years. During that time he also taught AP Government, coached bowling and track, and was the football coach.Under Robert, the football team went a combined 16-6, won it’s first city title, and became the first public league school to win a PIAA state playoff game. He also won five consecutive bowling division championships. During this time, he graduated from Cabrini’s Master of Educational Leadership program with distinguished recognition.

Robert enjoys patrolling the sidelines of his daughter Alexandra’s little league field hockey team, and playing the part of Han Solo in his youngest daughter Stella’s imagination where she plays the ongoing lead as Chewbacca. When given the rare opportunity to go out with his wife Katherine he is just happy to get a quiet moment to enjoy time in the City. Rob’s only time he is not to be disturbed is during Eagles games and premieres of Star Wars and Marvel movies.
