Richard was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala and one of his favorite childhood memories is watching his mother paint its different landscapes. When he was around 8 years old, he and his parents moved to Grand Prairie, Texas, where he finished grade school, middle, and high school.
After graduating from high school, Richard attended Texas A&M University – Commerce to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Art. He changed his major from Art to Botany, and during his Organic Chemistry course, from Botany to Chemistry. In his third year of undergrad, Richard found his interest in Quantum Chemistry and graduated from A&M – Commerce with a degree in Chemistry and Mathematics.
After spending a few years in graduate school pursuing a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry, Richard found that his inspiration was centered around education. And since finding a home here at Fusion Academy Dallas, he has been deeply inspired to develop his style of teaching and artistic capabilities.
