Rachel Harper

Rachel Harper is enthusiastic about education, and believes every child can learn. Her love for working with students to achieve the best came while employed as a counselor in the Greater Houston YMCA After School and Day Camp programs. Her passion for English came at an early age, and was influenced by her grandparents who were professors of English at Sam Houston State University. Rachel has attended Cowley County College on a cross country and track scholarship where she earned an Associate’s degree in Journalism. After Cowley, Rachel transferred to Western State College of Colorado (now Western State Colorado University) as a member of their NCAA Division II cross country and track teams.  She received a Bachelor’s degree in English and participated in poetry slams while at Western. Currently, Rachel is working on her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction at Sam Houston State University. Rachel looks forward to an exciting educational experience with the Fusion team and family.
