Priya earned a B.S. in Chemical Physics from the Rice University Honors Scholar Program. Her interest in teaching was initially sparked in college after she saw first-hand how many students drop-out of chemistry, physics and math classes confused and discouraged from further study. After earning her degree, she decided to make it her mission to translate these subjects into a language that people can comprehend and even enjoy!
Priya has worked as a scientist in the field of nanotechnology, and has taught high school math and physics, college statistics, and SAT/ACT/GMAT/GRE prep courses. She has also tutored students in a wide-range of subjects, and has seen first-hand the impact that one-on-one instruction and mentorship can have on young people – hence her decision to join Fusion!
Her first year at Fusion has been equal parts challenging, rewarding, and fun. She enjoys the close and personal relationships she’s cultivated with her students and the “family” feel of the Fusion community.
Priya enjoys painting, singing and cuddling with her German Shepherd mix Teddy!
