As Regional Area Manager for San Diego, Peter oversees and supports the development and operations of the Solana Beach and University City campuses. Peter conducts outreach, program development and provides direct support to the Head of School on each campus, with a focus on aligning operations and culture.
Peter earned a B.S. in biochemistry & molecular biology from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, a Ph.D. in biological chemistry from Indiana University, and conducted a year of post-doctoral research at The Scripps Research institute. Prior to college, Peter served four years of active duty in the U.S. Army as an Arabic linguist and interrogator.
Peter began his Fusion career as a science and math teacher at the Solana Beach campus. Over his first few years, he served as lead author with other Fusion colleagues for several titles in the For Dummies series, notably AP Biology for Dummies, AP Chemistry for Dummies and the very popular Chemistry Workbook for Dummies, which has been translated into German and Portuguese. Peter soon became the science department head and then the Assistant Director for the Solana Beach campus. In 2010, Peter opened and served as Head of School for the third Fusion campus, located in Mission Viejo. In 2013, Peter enjoyed a homecoming, returning to the Solana Beach campus to serve as Head of School for two years.
In his spare time, Peter provides copyediting and writing services to aspiring entrepreneurs, enjoys cooking and, most recently, wandering amidst the idyllic chef’s garden created in his backyard by his stunning bride, Michelle. Peter also enjoys the philosophical musings of his step-son, Noah, and the cheerful flatulence of his Boston Terrier, Wookiee.
