Nicole (Nikki) Fox has just begun teaching math at Fusion Academy of Montclair in November 2017. She aims to continue teaching math and branch into Computer Science soon. She was drawn to the campus because of its passion towards diversity and its support of anyone who steps foot through the door.
She was born and raised in central Jersey. There she attended Piscataway High School and Rutgers University New Brunswick. Her love of anything with a motherboard drove her to test out Computer Science in high school and her passion to help those with mental illnesses drove her to learn more about Psychology. In 2017, she graduated from Rutgers with a B.A. in Psychology and a B.S. in Computer Science. While going through school, she worked part time jobs as a cashier at a dollar store, a research assistant with her Computer Science professors, and a recitation leader, teaching and mentoring students who took the entry level Computer Science class at Rutgers.
Nikki loves to work with children and has a part time job at her local YMCA as an assistant teacher focusing on groups of kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade. One of her favorite things there is when the kids run up to her while yelling her name to give her a hug when she first sees them all during the day. While it is exhausting, seeing the kids having a good time during the day makes it all worth it. In her free time she loves to dance, work out, draw, play her ukulele, and crochet. She also loves to cut and color her own hair so don’t be surprised if she seems to look totally different a few days after meeting her!
