Moya received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of New Hampshire and studied English Literature in London for one year. She has been teaching a myriad of subjects in NYC for fifteen years including High School Equivalency, College Preparation and ESOL. She was an adult education teacher for the City University of New York for several years and taught at both Brooklyn College and Kingsborough Community College. Moya believes that learning is multi-sensory and creates student-centered lesson plans.
Moya is also a certified yoga and Pilates instructor and has been teaching group and individual classes since 2000. She specializes in rehabilitative exercise and has worked in the physical therapy field for five years. She has taught the benefits of exercise to children, teens and adults with conditions such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, autism, scoliosis and back pain. She taught group exercise and Tai Chi classes for the Arthritis Foundation and led certification trainings for fitness and health professionals. Moya focuses on posture and its effects on activities of daily living, balance and emotions.
