Morgan Fjord

Assistant Director

Morgan graduated from Sonoma State University with a B.A. in Mathematics with a concentration in Secondary Education. He has experience integrating Common Core State Standards into the mathematics classroom and loves to show the applicability of math and science in daily life!

After spending a year studying abroad in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Morgan completed a Minor in Spanish. He took Spanish and math classes with native Spanish speakers. Through this immersion experience he developed his Spanish skills and a sense of connection to Argentine culture, evident in his strong Argentine accent when speaking Spanish and in his biased opinion that Argentina is the best country in the world. While in South America he traveled throughout the continent experiencing amazing natural wonders, among his favorites were Iguazú Falls and Machu Picchu. Morgan also earned a 120-hour TEFL Certification (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) during his summer months abroad. He enjoys creating a comfortable and fun learning environment where students can be immersed in the English, Spanish, mathematical, and scientific languages.

Through the Boy Scouts of America, Morgan learned the joys of camping, camaraderie, and natural beauty. He earned the rank of Eagle Scout, an experience that fostered a passion for the outdoors and a life of adventure!

When not engaged in math-letics, Morgan competes in triathlons. He recently completed his first Full Ironman in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho! Morgan also enjoys doing jigsaw, crossword and Sudoku puzzles. He loves anything Spanish-language, especially Latin films and magic-realist literature – his favorite author is Gabriel García Márquez. Morgan is thrilled to join the Fusion team, where he is invested in creating a caring learning environment and an atmosphere where we can all grow together.
