Michelle has a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara and a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering from the University of Illinois. Following her graduate studies, she was awarded a fellowship to do a post-doctoral research study in Bordeaux, France. Michelle enjoyed France so much she decided to stay. She worked at Stryker Spine in Cestas, France in the R&D and Quality departments, developing spinal implants and surgical instruments. Michelle lived in France for 11 years then moved to Mason, Ohio with her family. It was in Ohio that she began pursuing her love of teaching and taught math at ITT Technical Institute. A job opportunity for her husband brought Michelle and her family to Texas where she has continued to pursue her passion for teaching. Michelle has recently attained her Math 7-12 teaching certification. She is looking forward to being an inspiring teacher and mentor at Fusion Academy.
Michelle enjoys spending time with her family, which includes her husband, four children, two dogs and occasional foster dog. She loves traveling, scuba diving and hiking.
