Hello World! My name is Mark Zhi. As you can probably tell by my funny last name, I hailed from the Far East, better known as China. I immigrated to the States when I was 13 and have been living in L.A. since. While I was in high school, I joined a club called the Academy of Future Educators and began tutoring my peers in math and sciences. Since then, I was involved with different organizations, helping students to succeed in various stages of their academic pathways.
I received my Bachelors in Mathematics from Occidental College. In case you were wondering, yes, President Obama went there. I decided to major in mathematics because it permeates other subjects that also interest me; hence I took a number of science courses to supplement my knowledge in math. During my free time, I enjoy quite a diverse range of activities – for example, I like playing pick-up basketball games and biking around the neighborhood, but reading a book and binge-watching anime excite me as well. I also love learning about new things (currently learning how to play a guitar), so teach me what you know!
