Margie Cavazos teaches Spanish and English at Fusion Academy. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and Spanish from Texas Tech University in her hometown of Lubbock, Texas. She has 17 years of teaching experience and has worked in both urban and rural communities and schools from Pre-K to college in Texas and California. In 2006, she climbed the Great Wall of China during a summer teaching excursion where she taught English to high school students in Nanjing, China. Recently, she moved to the Bay Area from Texas where she was teaching Spanish 1 in the small town of Lamesa. In her early teaching career, she spent three years teaching high school English at San Gabriel High School in the Los Angeles area. Teaching has taken her to many places both big and small, and her passion for teaching continues here at Fusion. In her free time, Margie enjoys walking, traveling, and watching Netflix. She especially enjoys cooking but openly admits that she still occasionally burns toast or every now and then, a pot of beans! Most of all, she has learned to improvise, not just in cooking, but also in life!
