Liz is overjoyed to be part of Fusion Academy Walnut Creek, joining our team as a math and science teacher. She attended San Francisco State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, taking particular interest in education and society. She had the opportunity to intern as an aide, tutor and work as an after school program assistant at San Francisco City Academy, a K-12 school for Tenderloin youth. Fresh out of college, Liz joined the management team for Trader Joe’s Company, serving as an assistant manager for many years. She received training and gained extensive experience with leadership, human resources, and business management skills. She is an engaged, compassionate, and knowledgeable teacher who loves being able to relate concepts creatively. She brings abstract ideas into the real world for students, and aims to make her class one they look forward to. Teaching others to understand math and conquer their fears associated with it, is especially rewarding. This proficiency and confidence in math can make all the difference in a student’s education, enabling them to soar to new academic heights.
Liz is a very active person who loves spending time with her boyfriend, friends and family. Her hobbies include cooking, gardening, pottery, photography, concert going, playing softball, board games, cards, and singing karaoke, to name a few. She is known among friends as an expert camper and avid traveler. Once while camping, her bonfire chicken smelled so delicious, a bear surprised the group by joining them for dinner!
