Mr. Leslie Ackerman is a tri-lingual Industrial Engineer graduate from the University of Engineering in Lima, Peru. Leslie spent six years of his professional career living in Germany and moved to the USA in 1988. He has lived in many states including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, South Florida, Northern Virginia, and finally settling in Washington, D.C. in 2015.
Leslie began his love of teaching as a teenager in Peru, explored other careers and resumed teaching in 2003. Since then he has taught high school Mathematics (Algebra I/II, Geometry & Pre-Calculus), Physics/Chemistry, and Science at the elementary and middle school levels. He also taught Ancient Civilizations History for two years and a variety of electives ranging from Science Clubs to Musical & Theater Appreciation. With this, Leslie’s experience connects many dots in his goal of a renaissance education.
Leslie brings a contagious love for learning and thinking and an innate ability to mentor on the potential of students. His renaissance attitude towards knowledge has always driven him towards exciting horizons, whether it’s the world history and its places, or the appreciation of all good music.
