Mayerlin Ceballos is a Math & Science teacher/mentor who brings fun and excitement to the classroom. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in physical and social sciences from the University of Texas at Arlington. She was very involved on campus with various organizations such as the Multicultural Mavericks, National Space Society, and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. During her senior year, she was President of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, where they focused on encouraging Hispanic college students to pursue careers in STEM fields and provide professional development opportunities. Through the organization, she completed the National Institute of Leadership Advancement program and became a certified leader.
Before she joined Fusion, Mayerlin worked as a math tutor at Tarrant County College where she loved helping students succeed and found her passion for teaching. She also worked as a program assistant at the Upward Bound Math & Science program where she helped mentor and tutor high school students with disadvantage backgrounds to succeed in their precollege performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits.
On the weekends, Mayerlin enjoys camping with her husband and fur-child, Woody. She also enjoys helping her husband with studying and building nests for ants and other insects, in the name of science! She hopes to build her own telescope and join a star gazing group where she can learn more about Astronomy and soon have star-parties with the Fusion family! <3
