Latesha Dickerson teaches Science at Fusion Academy – Lincoln Park. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Chicago State University, where she graduated cum laude. She also holds a master’s degree in education from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education. She worked for eight years as a middle and high school math and science teacher in Chicago. She supported teachers and administrators in Chicago’s public schools as a teacher coach and consultant.
She also works as a filmmaker and is currently producing a documentary about black educators in the Chicago Public Schools. On Saturday afternoons, she hangs out at her neighborhood coffeehouse creating colorful spreads in her Happy Planner while listening to a curated Spotify playlist of hits from D’Angelo, Prince, Stevie Wonder, The Talking Heads, Kendrick Lamar, and Solange.
