Lara received her B.A. in English with a Minor in Music from Brigham Young University. Lara began pursuing a career in teaching after volunteering at a nonprofit adult literacy program for refugees. Later, she graduated from a respected teaching accreditation program in Dallas. She has taught and tutored for over five years from grades pre-K to 12 in Reading, Language Arts, Math and History. Although the curriculum changes, she always tries to encourage her students to be self-advocates in education and in life.
Most of Lara’s time is dictated to her two young sons, so you will usually find her in the garden or playing superheroes. When she has time alone, she enjoys practicing the cello or piano, baking, sewing, reading and painting. Her favorite place to be is out in the woods camping with her husband and boys.
