BA, Mathematics & Psychology, Oberlin College
Kevin teaches math and science at Fusion. Born and raised in Altadena, CA as the son of two music teachers, he grew up not only with a love of the arts but also a strong fascination with science (due in part to his childhood hero, Bill Nye). However, it wasn’t until completing his undergraduate studies at Oberlin College, with a double major in Mathematics & Psychology, that he finally caught the teaching bug himself, working for a year as a tutor/classroom instructor at an after-school program in Arcadia. With a newfound enthusiasm for education, Kevin joined Fusion’s team in early 2015, excited to continue exploring the subjects he finds fascinating with a younger generation. Outside of Fusion, Kevin can usually be found with a musical instrument in his hand; as an avid multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer, he is involved with multiple projects, including as a solo recording artist and as the guitar/keyboard player of his current band, The Skariginals. He also spends his free time practicing sleight of hand and close-up magic (or DOES HE?!?). A self-proclaimed geek with diverse interests, Kevin is always happy to talk about obscure albums, big bang cosmology, his love of stand-up comedy, or the torturous and ill-fated life of being an LA Dodger fan.
