Keri is thrilled to be teaching Math and Science here at Fusion Academy. She has a B.S. in Biology from the University of Washington with a minor in Applied Mathematics. In her college years, she served as a plant identification teaching assistant and as a tutor at the local math lab. Keri worked in research laboratories for plant biology and aquatic microbiology before following her desire to work with youth. After spending seven years operating shelters for youth and young adults in the Northwestern and Southwestern United States, Keri feels so privileged to be able to combine her passions here at Fusion.
An extremely awkward teenager, Keri’s relationships with her teachers were of great importance in her adolescence. She was fortunate enough to have some wonderful ones who helped spark her interest in the sciences.
Though she was born in the Bay Area, Keri grew up in Washington State and, after spending two and a half years in the alpine desert of Santa Fe, New Mexico, is living in California for the first time in her bi-pedal life. In her free time, you’re likely to find Keri dancing to the beat of any drum she can hear or wandering around outside with a thermos of coffee or pair of binoculars in her hand.
