Kayla began her career at Fusion in June 2014 at the Brooklyn campus as a teacher and eventually becoming the Math department head and later Director of Student Development. Kayla joins the Montclair campus a math teacher/mentor and is excited to get back into the classroom. Kayla moved to the Montclair area in 2013 and began her career in education as a freelance math tutor. She has both tutored and taught students from middle school math through Calculus and has taught classes in Dance and Life Skills. She holds her Masters in Developmental Psychology from Teachers College at Columbia University where she focused on adolescent development and cognition/learning.
Kayla is obsessed with dogs, especially ones with smooshed faces, and befriends almost every dog she meets. She hopes to one day own a fleet of bulldogs. In her free time, Kayla loves to try new restaurants and occasionally go for runs. She also enjoys reading mysteries, watching movies, and most importantly, spending time with her husband and bulldog.
