Katherine Moser

Permanent Substitute Teacher

Katherine has lived in California for most of her life, spending time in southern California and Sacramento before settling down in the Bay Area.  She had the good fortune to attend both Stanford University (undergraduate B.S. Microbiology and Master’s in Education) and U.C. Berkeley (Master’s in Business Administration), and she loves to go to the Big Game every year.  Academically, Katherine focused on science and math, and has enjoyed a variety of careers, including:  Research biochemist, hospital and medical clinic executive, public school teacher and private tutor.   Her favorite career is teaching; she holds a California Professional Clear Credential for general science, biology and chemistry, is CLAD-certified and spent 17 years teaching science in public schools.  She retired from full-time teaching in 2013 and has thoroughly enjoyed tutoring students privately since that time.  Born in Texas, Katherine moved to California after her Dad’s stint in the Navy (where the family lived in Taiwan).  This experience triggered a passion for travel and food, hobbies which she pursues to this day.  Katherine has traveled to most major European countries and has set foot on six of the seven continents (Australia is the last and at the top of her “bucket list”).  In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, nature walks, photography, reading and genealogy research.   Katherine is pleased to join the Fusion team, and looking forward to supporting the excellent teaching staff as their on-site Substitute Teacher.
