A native of nowhere, I was born in Detroit, enjoyed a few years in southern Illinois, and then suffered through my tumultuous middle school and high schools years in New England. After graduating from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College graduate (now called Randolph College and co-ed), I went on to earn a Master’s of Education and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from George Mason University. Virginia has been my home for over three decades.
My passions include helping young writers find their voice, traveling to Denver to visit my daughter, Jacquelyn, traveling to England to visit my daughter, Betsy, and traveling anywhere with my husband of thirty-five years. I also love to write, bake, practice yoga, and run. (Okay, running isn’t a passion . . . but it feels so good when I stop.)
