Jessica Eckert has worked with students who learn differently since she was 18. Starting at the Dunnabeck summer camp at the Kildonan School, she became an Orton-Gillingham tutor, working to support the language skills of dyslexic students. There she became the Director of College Counseling, Literature Department Chair, and Director of Student Assessments. After eleven years with the Kildonan School, she moved to the Purnell School, where she developed their academic program to support students with learning differences. As the Associate Head of School, she managed the daily support of the school, the students, and the academic program. She has a Bachelors’ degree in English and Education from the University at Albany, a Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Reading and Language from the University of Massachusetts, and is a doctoral candidate at Northeastern University with a concentration in Organizational Leadership.
Jessica has a passion for traveling and exploring and is thoroughly enjoying her new home state of Pennsylvania with her husband, Kevin, and their five miniature dachshunds. She loves to read everything from the classics to post-apocalyptic stories to the latest issue of any comic written by Brian K. Vaughan, and Sunday nights are always devoted to the Walking Dead!
