Jeremiah Hakundy joins Fusion Academy as Head of School for the Tysons location in Virginia. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Harvard University and a Masters of Fine Arts in nonfiction writing from Emerson College. He has most recently served as Head of School for a national charter network. …
After teaching college-level writing at Emerson College while pursuing his masters and working for two major educational publishing houses in Boston, Jeremiah traveled to the Southwest to teach writing and literature at an independent boarding school. Later serving there as Academic Dean and Humanities Department Chair, Jeremiah was the founding Director of their Center for Teaching and Learning, which serves as the hub for student learning and support services and faculty development.
With over ten years of experience in the classroom and education administration, Jeremiah also had the privilege of serving as Site Director of Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth programs on the East Coast, including the Princeton Global Issues Program and CTY’s Alexandria, Virginia location.
Outside of school, he enjoys pursuing his own writing and music interests, woodworking and vintage midcentury furniture refurbishing, and adventuring outdoors in mountain biking, kayaking, backpacking, hiking, and wilderness camping. Jeremiah is thrilled to be a part of founding Fusion Tysons and is very excited for the educational solutions Fusion will help provide our students!
