Jacob Soule

Jacob is a biologist who loves hiking and gardening. He has a cactus garden containing species from all over Texas! He earned his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University in botany and is a hard-core Spartan. Go Green!

Jacob has been working at Fusion for nearly 2 years teaching math and science. He discovered his passion for teaching while working as a teaching assistant at the University of Missouri and the University of Texas at Austin, where Jacob earned his master’s degree in plant biology. This love of educating has only grown during his time at fusion.  He thinks the best part of teaching is that moment when a student “gets it.” He believes learning should be an interactive exchange of ideas between teacher and student. What you learn in the classroom should be applicable to the real world.

Jacob is an avid consumer of sports, music, and good food. He enjoys cooking, playing guitar, and nerding out to games like Risk. He grew up working on a Christmas tree farm in Michigan and slowly made his way down South to Texas. He is happy to be somewhere warmer than Michigan even if that means surviving Texas summers. He and his wife have more or less started a zoo—they have 3 chickens, 3 cats, and a dog.
