Heidi has lived all over California- born in Marin, high school in Los Angeles, undergrad and Law School in San Diego, also living in Mission Viejo, Santa Maria, Petaluma, San Francisco, and San Jose. She graduated from the University of California, San Diego with a bachelors in Communication and minors in Biology and Theater. While at UCSD, she interned for District’s Courts in Washington, DC. She then went on to receive her Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego. While at USD, she studied Comparative Law in Dublin, Ireland and International Law in Florence, Italy. Heidi practiced many areas of law for 18 years, until she learned her young sons had Autism. Fed-up with California’s resources for special education, she zip code shopped across the country to Massachusetts for early intervention and elementary aged services for her sons 3 sons who have different combinations of Autism, ADHD, Anxiety, Dyslexia, Sensory Processing Disorder, and Visual Processing Disorder. She then switched her area of practice to Special Education and received a certification in Special Education Advocacy from the Federation from Children with Special Needs in Boston. Heidi has been a Special Education Advocate for almost a decade and learned about the unique programming available at Fusion when needing to find the right placement for some of her clients.
In her free time, Heidi drives her 3 sons to competitive soccer, theater, Kung Fu, and hockey. She also has her real estate license and is infatuated with HGTV home improvement shows. She loves antiquing, taking her miniature pincher “Pinky” to the dog park and can usually be found with a coffee cup nearby.
