Heather is excited to share her hands-on approach to teaching with her Fusion students as a Teacher/Mentor for science and math. She has a BA in chemical physics from Wellesley College and a PhD in chemistry from Stanford University. She started her career working at a startup, designing lasers for the telecom industry, and enjoys sharing this experience with her students. Teaching college chemistry lectures and labs for 9 years helped her hone her teaching skills and sparked her fascination with hands-on learning. As she ran a science camp in her backyard for 4 years, she developed a broad repertoire of tactile science lessons. This continued as she taught 4th-6th grade science, bringing engaging experiments from classroom to classroom. Heather has tutored high school math and science for over 15 years, and enjoys applying her kinesthetic approach to individual learning styles. When she’s not teaching, Heather enjoys cooking comfort food, playing piano, walking, and hosting science and art play dates.
