Haydee Zavala joined Fusion Academy in 2017 as an English and History teacher. Being from the Grand Canyon state, she earned her Bachelor’s in Education from Arizona State University. After moving to San Diego, she earned her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, and is currently working towards her PhD in International and Comparative Education at both San Diego State University and Claremont Graduate University. Haydee’s experience teaching includes working at public, charter, and alternative schools. She has taught students from around the world, including Burma, Iraq, Cuba, Mexico, Burundi, and of course, the United States. When she does have free time, Haydee enjoys reading, going to the beach, and doing nothing. She also loves traveling and has been fortunate enough to explore 14 countries over the last four years.
