Grace Bacon is a math teacher at Fusion Academy’s Evanston campus. Grace went to a small liberal arts college in Florida called New College of Florida. While there she had the opportunity to experience firsthand research, completing an undergraduate thesis on the role of an inhibitory protein in nematodes and presented a poster of this research at two academic conferences. She earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry with a minor in biology.
Grace worked as a teaching assistant in college, for both math and science courses. She did an internship at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Sarasota, Fl, working closely with several math and science teachers. She then worked as a tutor at Huntington Learning Center, teaching math and science, as well as preparing students for standardized tests like the SAT and ACT. In her free time, Grace loves to travel, draw and watch bad movies.
