Fiona serves Fusion Academy as Post-Secondary Counselor. She graduated from Thomas Aquinas College with a degree in Liberal Arts and is currently working on her master’s degree in Communication Sciences & Disorders with an emphasis on Human Development. Prior to joining Fusion, Fiona worked as an English teacher and leadership coach. As an English teacher, she taught students to write superb essays, delve into literature, and build reading comprehension skills. As a leadership coach, she worked with Juniors and Seniors to help them explore their unique talents, develop their long term and post-secondary goals, and create an effective plan of action. She has also gained several areas of specialization including certification through the Institute for Excellence in Writing and training with the Institute of Reading Development. With these tools in hand, she provided writing instruction and reading remediation services to students from all different learning backgrounds. Fiona is elated to be able to apply her skill set to teaching and post-secondary counseling in the one-to-one setting. In her free time she enjoys reading psychological thrillers, not setting the alarm for Saturday morning, and driving up and down the coast with windows down to visit family. Most people don’t know that over the years Fiona has accumulated five distinct apparatuses for making coffee.
