Erina is joining the Fusion Academy team as a math teacher.
Erina studied Architecture with an emphasis in City and Regional Planning at UC Berkeley and later did her graduate studies at USC where she earned her Masters in Urban Planning. She worked in local governments in Southern California such as OC Parks, the City of Los Angeles, and the Los Angeles County Transit Agency where she learned first-hand about different phases of project development and implementation.
While Erina had been working with students occasionally as a tutor, she missed the learning environment and recently decided to transition her career focus towards education. She spent the past year living in Washington Heights, Manhattan, NY, working as a teaching assistant in a middle school math class. Not having stepped into an 8th grade math class room in 15 years since she was a middle school student, she was excited to see the students learning math in an interactive way, applying their learned math skills to real-life situations and projects. She is looking forward to being back in the classroom and hopes to help students realize real-life relevance when learning math skills.
In her free time, Erina likes enjoys hiking, reading historical fiction, and painting.
