Emily Carmen (Bonanno) is the Fusion Greenwich music teacher. She is a professional music educator, composer, arranger, orchestrator, producer and studio musician for many known films/television shows and performing artists ( including the hit children’s television show, Nick Jr.’s Dora the Explorer, Grammy winning
performing artist Macy Gray and multi platinum Grammy award winning producer
Jared Lee Gosselin.) Emily has been a music and special education teacher
for the past decade and has taught students of all ages from as young as
toddlers to college level.
Emily has taught on boththe east and west coast from preschool to high school and even university lecture halls. Music education is a passion of Emily’s and she
strives to make each and every lesson always an enjoyable experience full of knowledge
and creativity. Her professional studies include a background studying
mathematics and music at Manhattanville College, Berklee College of Music,
NYU’s Buddy Baker Film Scoring Program and The Music Conservatory of SUNY
Purchase with a degree in Music and Studio Composition. Her studies also
include a decade of study with one on one mentorship numerous award winning
composers, producers, orchestrators, arrangers, and performing artists
including: Grammy winning film composer NYU Professor Ira Newborn (“Ace Ventura Pet Detective,” “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,”“Blues Brothers,” etc.), Grammy nominated and award winning film score orchestrator Sonny Kompanek (“Goodbye Christopher Robin,” Coen Brother’s film music orchestrator), award winning film composer/producer Richard Horowitz (“Any Given Sunday,” “The Sheltering Sky”), world renowned Grammy winner and honored jazz legend composer and tenor saxophonist, Illinois Jacquet (critically acclaimed and recognized as the first first R&B saxophone solo, “Flying Home”), Grammy award recipient and internationally acclaimed conductor and composer Joel Thome and many more. Emily is also currently completing her dual masters in Special Education.
