Teacher/Mentor

Denver is a passionate mathematics teacher. He obtained his teaching credential from University of San Francisco in 2009. He has been a math teacher since then. He has taught youth from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and with different learning styles in Oakland, San Francisco and San Jose. He greatly enjoys interacting with his students in and out of the classroom, connecting math to their interests, and witnessing their growth academically and personally. He is an enthusiastic participant in various professional education programs including the Stanford Summer Teaching Institute. He is also involved in lay ministerial work in San Jose. During his free time, he hikes, runs, and dances. He is proud to speak three languages – Filipino, Spanish and English. He obtained his undergraduate degree in BS Civil Engineering from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, and worked as a civil engineering technician in Sacramento for a few years before discovering his calling to teach.
