David has been in the education field for 35 years. He has a B.A. in psychology from SUNY at Stony Brook, a M.Ed. in special education from Rhode Island College, and has many more graduate credits (he never stops learning). As a teacher, he’s taught almost all grade levels, PK and 4-12, and has worked in public, private, charter and international schools. He’s taught English, psychology, algebra, screenwriting, filmmaking, mindfulness and meditation. David has also worked in the special education field for 20 years, as a teacher, learning specialist and administrator. For nearly half of his education career, he’s been a school administrator and has held positions as a Head of School, Principal, Assistant Principal, Dean of Students, and Program Director. His education career includes working overseas for 9 years (S. Korea, Japan, China and Europe), as well as in the states of New York, California and Rhode Island. David is also a Certified Professional Coach, and leads local support groups, workshops and classes in the areas of positive psychology, self-compassion, well-being, mindfulness, meditation, relationships and spirituality. His passions and personal experience inspired him to create “The Self-Love Happiness Club” Meetup group with monthly meetings to help others learn the art and science behind creating more self-compassion and joy in their lives. When not working, he loves to read, write, explore the city, and is currently learning how to sing (this will be a quite a challenge).
