Danette Newton graduated from Kansas City Art Institute as a double major, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts in both Painting and Art History. In addition, she earned a certificate in the Concentrated Asian Studies Program. She comes to us from Raymore, Missouri where she was a substitute teacher for two school districts. After a time, she decided to home school her two younger children; she also took on the responsibility (along with her husband, Robert) of becoming a coach with USA Swim and started training her three children at the pool everyday.
Most recently, Danette and her youngest child moved to the Gurnee, Illinois area to be closer to family and to better help facilitate the family’s relocation. She is very proud of her children: Daniel, her oldest, is serving in the U.S. Marine Corps and is recently married to a wonderful woman, Brittany; Jacob, her middle child, is a Junior in high school and has just relocated to Gurnee, Illinois; and Colette, her youngest, is a Freshman in high school.
Danette enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, traveling to other countries, learning about new cultures, reading, chocolate, herbal tea, painting, drawing, and doing any art projects.
