Chris Kanzler is Lincoln Park’s Assistant Director and also teaches Spanish, English and History. He attended Pepperdine University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages: Hispanic Studies. Later he received his TEFL certification from an institute in Chiang Mai, Thailand and a Level C2 DELE Certification in Spanish from the Cervantes Institute.
Chris has been in the classroom since his days with Jumpstart, a work-study program supported by Americorps. Since then he has lived and taught in South Korea, Thailand and, most recently, in Chile where he developed and piloted the English program for the tourism branch of the Chilean government. This is Chris’ second Fusion campus, having worked in the Homework Café and as a Teacher/Mentor at Fusion Los Angeles back in 2012. He is ecstatic to be back in the Fusion family!
In his free time Chris loves to be outdoors and under the sun, riding his bike all over Chicago, mainly in search of great food, the beach or two trees where he can put up his hammock. Traveling is also a passion so he’s always thinking about which destination to visit next. Travel tips are welcome and appreciated and he’s more than happy to share some of his own!
