Catherine taught Humanities and was the Special Ed Lead in the Pasadena campus for three years prior to becoming the the Director of Homework Cafe at Fusion Miracle Mile. She earned her bachelor’s degree in American Literature and Culture from the University of California, Los Angeles. Catherine has been working with students in multiple capacities for about 10 years now, primarily specializing in remediation of reading fluency and comprehension skills for students, ages 4-Adult, in a one-to-one environment. She was a Behavior Intervention Specialist for about 3 years and implemented ABA, Floor time, and Functional Communication Training for a student on the Autism Spectrum in South L.A. These experiences and love of teaching led her to begin a graduate program at California State University, Los Angeles. She completed her M.A. in Education with an emphasis in Reading in 2017.
When Catherine is not at work, she enjoys reading some of her favorite authors: Kurt Vonnegut, Albert Camus, or Herman Hesse. She also loves concerts, movies, and T.V. She looks forward to long hikes all around L.A. or spending time with friends.
