Carlie Meyer teaches English and poetry to a variety of levels and interests in order to meet student needs. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English and education at Towson University in Maryland. She graduated from Fairfield University with a 4.0 , earning her a master’s degree in school counseling.
Carlie has six years of teaching language arts at both Rippowam Middle School in Stamford and Pine Grove Middle School in Baltimore County. She has completed counseling internships at the Discovery School in Bridgeport and Stratford High School. In addition, she spent one year as the young adult coordinator at Bridgehouse in Bridgeport, a facility for people with chronic mental illness. Here she helped young members transition to jobs, careers, and college while become more socially and emotionally confident.
On weekends, Carlie teaches spin exercise classes at the YMCA and goes running with her dog. She spends time with her husband and twins and sometimes manages a little time to read for her book club.
Despite her hobbies and accomplishments, Carlie’s true passion and skill directly relates to napping. She is striving to perfect this skill further and practices as often as possible. So far she is able to nap at the beach, water parks, cars, pools, and the comfort of her own home.
