Brooke Cohen came to Fusion because of her passion for teaching and working with children. Her love of learning began while attending The Hockaday School, an all girls’ college preparatory school in Dallas, Texas. She then continued her education at Barnard College of Columbia University. After graduating from the university, she worked in Washington, DC for several years before attending SMU Law School. Brooke practiced law for approximately 18 years, while intermittently tutoring children in English, Spanish and History. She also took a sabbatical from the law and worked as Development Director for a not-for-profit focused on creating tools for quality education in schools that serve low-income communities. After ultimately focusing her career on tutoring, Brooke decided to follow her heart and teach full-time at Fusion Academy.
Outside of work, Brooke spends most of her time with her family. She has two teenage children who keep her very busy! She also loves to read fiction and cook healthy and tasty snacks and meals. Spending time outdoors makes Brooke extra happy; she cannot resist a park, a good book and a picnic on a beautiful fall or spring Texas day!
