Brooke has always been driven to both protect – and enjoy – the natural world that gives us so many resources and opportunities for such inspiring adventures. Earning a B.S. in Conservation and Resource Studies at UC Berkeley, she found her niche and emphasis in Energy Access– seeing the opportunity to alleviate the impacts of climate change and poverty with renewable energy. Prior to coming to Fusion, she spent time living and working in remote regions of the world including the remote R.A.C.C.S. Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua, Tanzania, and Morocco as a Renewable Energy Engineer and Researcher. After being an Advocate for / Author on clean energy and it’s link to climate change in Africa, and speaking and publishing reports at international conferences such as the United Nations COP22 in Marrakech, she was happy to return to California and educate the future leaders of tomorrow about what she loves most: science! She is excited to combine some of her teaching experience as a lecturer and supervising academic research programs with Fusion’s 1-on-1 model to help students learn how much they really can know. When she’s not at Fusion, she can be found surfing in Santa Cruz where she lives, rock climbing in the Sierras with her boyfriend, or writing environmental poetry on some mountaintop in Yosemite.
