Bridget Shields, MFA, RYT500 has been teaching Therapeutic Yoga in New York City both privately and in premiere New York City studios for over 14 years and has extensive training and continuing education both in US and India. She has worked with executives, physicians, scientists, fashionistas, celebrities, artists, educators, teens, children and helps those in recovery, immuno-support conditions and cancer patients. Her vast knowledge and experience of classical Yoga, Ayurveda, Meditation and Pranayama breathing techniques are specialized for the individual.
A member of the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT), Bridget’s teaching experience includes: New York Children’s Aid Society, YogaWorks, Reflections Center for Conscious Living and she served as the Yoga Director for Oasis Day Spas. Additionally, she has taught at corporations and top studios and also consults on Nutrition and wellness, recently completing a Health & Wellness Coaching certification from IIN: Institutie for Integrative Nutrition (2014).
Bridget is new to Houston and leads Yoga Teacher Training certification programs at Nurture Soul Therapeutics and teaches a ”Gentle Essentials” at Heights School of Yoga, for all ages and stages in life. She has led numerous workshops, trainings, intensives and retreats locally and internationally. She is in demand for her therapeutic individualized style and extensive knowledge of Yoga, Ayurveda and well-being. Her background includes working with a Non-profit 501c3, Fine Art Management in galleries and Private Collections and she holds her Masters in Fine Art from Bard College, NY. Bridget enjoys volunteering, notably at God’s Love We Deliver, a non-profit in NYC that prepares and delivers food throughout Manhattan and the five boroughs for those living with Aids and other health conditions. She is an avid foodie and enjoys cooking for many and also enjoys photography, museum and gallery visits, and enjoys traveling globally, most recently to India, Asia, Italy, Morocco and Myanmar.
