Barb comes to Fusion with extensive experience working with children in both recreational and therapeutic settings. Prior to joining the Fusion team, Barb worked in the mental health field for 13 years with a Wraparound program serving children and families in Santa Clara County. She has incorporated many of the Wraparound values into her own outlook on life, including the belief that a strength-based, individualized, collaborative, and needs-driven approach can lead to successful outcomes in almost any aspect of life.
Barb is a firm believer that a child’s overall health and well-being affects his or her success in academics and in life, and that having dedicated staff who are truly interested in each child as an individual can make a significant difference in a child’s life. She strives to work with others in a manner that inspires confidence, contributes to personal growth and success, and promotes overall wellness.
Barb holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology from the University of Wyoming (where she competed in NCAA Division I level soccer) and a Masters’ degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Health Psychology from Santa Clara University.
Barb finds great joy in international travel and loves experiencing diverse cultures, landscapes, and food. She’s an avid soccer player, landscape photographer, and nature lover, and enjoys kitchen gadgetry, hiking, reading, and all things dark chocolate (is it wrong to eat a 1-pound box of See’s in 3 days?).
Barb is thrilled to join the Fusion team and to share Fusion’s personalized learning approach with students and families in the Los Gatos community!
