Barbara was born and raised in Houston, TX. She attended the University of St. Thomas with a joint major degree in political Science and International Studies. Where she gained the knowledge and love of travel. After graduation she married her sweetheart and enjoyed traveling to many overseas locations such as London, Paris, Germany, Scotland, Mexico, Canada, The British Virgin Islands, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.
Barbara then obtained her Master’s degree at the University Of Prairie View A&M in 2010 in Educational Administration while teaching in Aldine ISD as a History Teacher. In Aldine Barbara was a History Fair Coordinator and Volleyball coach. Prior to Aldine, Barbara was an associate at Klein ISD for 3 years and a volleyball coach for club for 2 seasons. She was a Sunday school teacher at her church for 4 years, recently serving as the teacher for her own Daughter’s class at St. Anthony of Padua this past year.
Barbara then started a family and took a hiatus from teaching to raise her two children, a boy and a girl. She then obtained an Adjunct teaching position with Lone Star College where she has been teaching for the last 3 years. Barbara comes to us with over 10 years teaching experience in both the public and private sector.
Barbara’s goal is to begin working on her PH.D in education. She spends as much time as possible with her family, usually at the Children’s museum or at a park.
