Austin McManus is a small-town kid at heart but aspires to make it in the big city as a historian and educator. He grew up in rural western New York and, from an early age, developed a passion for learning and for history. His passions and interests drove him to head south to the Northern Virginia area for his education. He graduated from George Mason University in May 2017 with his Bachelor of Arts degree in History and a minor in Religious Studies. He then enrolled in Mason’s Accelerated Master’s Program which allowed him to graduate a year later with his Master of Arts degree in American History.
Over the course of his four years in college and living in the D.C. Area, Austin has fallen in love with everything about it and is continuously working to ensure that he is able to remain in the area long-term to develop his skills as a historian and work in an environment that is as passionate about learning as he is. After discovering Fusion and its unique and revolutionary education model, Austin has committed himself to excelling at Fusion and delivering a quality learning experience and environment for his students at Fusion. He also hopes to impart them with the same passion for history that he has.
In his free time, Austin enjoys reading, writing, listening to his collection of vinyl records, and spending time with his friends and family.
