Atoosa earned an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from the New School and an M.A. in English Literature from Hunter College. Teaching is a passion that evolved from her work as a poet and singer/songwriter/pianist. Prior to joining Fusion, Atoosa worked as an adjunct professor at Fairleigh Dickinson University teaching Academic Writing and English classes to international students, as well as poetry workshops to homeschooling students. In addition to teaching at Fusion, Atoosa loves working with students one-on-one in her private piano studio, and deeply values her relationship with her students and the gift of watching them flourish.
When not teaching, Atoosa loves spending time with her husband and two daughters. As an artist, she has released several independent CD’s and performed nationally. Her poems have been published in print and online journals, and her first chapbook, Black Hollyhock, was published in 2015 by Finishing Line Press.
