Ashlea Hayes

Teacher/Mentor

Ashlea Hayes graduated from El Camino College at he age of 17, with both a certificate of Competence and an A.A. in Sign Language Interpreter Training. She went on to graduate from California State University Northridge, with a degree in Deaf studies, concentration ASL/ASL Literature. Proud member of the Deaf Community, she works very hard to “bridge the gap” between the Deaf and Hearing worlds. She is president of a local organization, focusing on comity service, called HearZero. This organization, seeks to educate both Deaf and Hearing worlds about each other.

Ashlea stays busy, and that’s how she likes it! She has her own skin-care and cosmetics business, and she regularly hosts deaf events throughout the Los Angels area. She is also a SAG actress, and you can find her as a high school student on Freeform’s “Switched At Birth”.

She was just named Administrative Assistant for the Deaflympic Women’s Basketball team representing the US. When she isn’t traveling, or hosting events, you can find her in the kitchen trying out a new recipe! She loves the Angels baseball team, and is in love with everything purple!
