Amy is the Assistant Director of Fusion Academy Los Gatos. She comes to the role after 2.5 years with our campus, most recently serving as the Science Department Head. She received a B.S. in Biology with an emphasis in human biology from Brigham Young University. After graduating, she worked in the field of plant genetics, but found herself drawn to more creative endeavors and entered the world of graphic design. Her time in this field was rewarding, but Amy sought greater meaning in her work and when she found Fusion Academy, she knew it was something special.
More than anything, Amy believes in the value of our students. She knows that regardless of the experiences they’ve had or the difficulties they face that they can learn and grow, given the right opportunities. Her greatest desire is for each student who comes to Fusion to develop a strong sense of self as they interact with supportive adults in the one-on-one model.
Outside of work, Amy can often be found hiking in the Santa Cruz Mountains with her husband Josh, taking care of her three cats, and volunteering. She also loves baking chocolate chip cookies and has her own secret recipe.
