Amber Guerin grew up in Monterey, California by the ocean with her two younger twin sisters, father and grandmother. Inspired by her high school art teacher, she starting making art during her senior year. Amber continued pursuing art in college and was fortunate to have professors who greatly supported and mentored her. She was chosen to show her work in a juried group exhibition at Monterey Peninsula College in April 2012. The Art Department Facility selected Amber as the recipient for the Monterey Peninsula College Foundation Student Scholarship for Creative Arts in May 2012. She graduated from San José State University where she received her Bachelor of Fine Art degree with an emphasis in Pictorial Art in 2015. Amber exhibited a new body of work, Alethea, in 2015 made of highly textural paintings and glass blown sculptures, which employs ideas of the body’s experience with art and the world. Amber is thrilled to be teaching at Fusion and proud to be a part of the founding team of Palo Alto.
