Amanda joins Fusion Academy, Boca Raton as the Director of Student Development. She is originally from the “Tar Heel” state of North Carolina and now calls the beautiful “Sunshine” state of Florida home!
She comes to Fusion with more than fifteen years of experience in corporate training and development. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Ashford University. Her passion for educating and advocating for youth developed while working as a Teacher’s Assistant in Special Education within the California public school system. This led her to pursue and achieve a Master of Arts in Education degree with a specialization in Higher Education from Ashford University.
Fulfilling her passion for advocating for those in need, she worked for the Marine Corps for ten years in a role that educated, supported and advocated for families with special needs. Most recently, she held the position of Education Coordinator for an organization that assisted college students with learning differences in their transition to college. In this role, she was able to influence the students’ lives by serving as a mentor, teaching life skills, acting as their liaison and providing them with guidance and academic planning.
Amanda loves to travel and experience various cultures. Being a military spouse has afforded her the opportunity to explore and live in places such as Japan and Hawaii. In her free time, she enjoys exploring all that Florida has to offer. She’s an entertainment enthusiast, so on any given weekend, she can be found attending a musical concert, comedy show, sports game or watching the newest box office movie.
